In
2005, Teresa Cheung made her acting debut in the award-winning feature
film COLOR BLOSSOMS, set in Hong Kong and theatrically released in Hong
Kong, Japan (Universal Pictures), Singapore and Brazil. Directed by
maestro auteur Yon Fan (PEONY PAVILION, BOUGIE STREET and who is known
for launching film careers of Chow Yun Fat, Maggie Cheung, Daniel Wu),
produced by award-winning Fruit Chan (DUMPLING, HOLLYWOOD HONG KONG,
DURIAN DURIAN), COLOR BLOSSOMS premiered at Berlinale. Teresa received
accolades, winning Rising Star Award in Cinemanila International Film
Festival in the Phillippines and Most Promising Star Award in India’s
Tamil Nadu International Film Festival; Best Actress nomination at Hong
Kong Film Critics Society Awards; and Best Newcomer nomination at the
Hong Kong Film Awards and China Media Film Awards.
Following her film debut, Teresa signed with China’s national TV network
CCTV’s artist management company in Beijing.
In
2006, Teresa relocated to Los Angeles to study theatre. She audited 200
hours of Master Scene Studies with Larry Moss. She graduated Year 1
Intensives at The Sanford Meisner Center private coached by Martin
Barter. She further studied at Stella Adler LA, Script and Character
Analysis; Foundation Techniques with Ron Burrus; The Power of Words/
Shakespeare with Joanne Linville. Teresa attends regularly intensive
writing workshops by Robert McKee namely The Story Seminar; The Story
Genre.
In
2007, with her film awards and profile in Asia, Teresa obtained her US
green card ( category “extraordinary ability” ) adding to her Canadian
citizenship and passport, Hong Kong and China citizenship and ID cards,
allowing her to legally work in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia. Teresa
travels frequently to Asia for luxury brand endorsements and
appearances.
Teresa’s Hollywood debut plays a double role as executive producer and
Asian journalist in Oliver Stone’s W, as a BBC newscaster starring
opposite Josh Brolin in the climatic ending of W. With her established
connections and distinguished profile in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan,
Teresa lined up W’s private equity from Asia. W also marks the first of
her Hollywood film financing projects. The Hollywood Reporter titles
